Reminds me a bit of the cover to Winter Soldier #8

I love the cut patterns of it as well, so I'm hoping I can find someone to base a pattern off of this one. It's absurdly difficult to find anyone able to make one that fits me well, I'm not sure why that is as I'm not abnormally sized in any way, just short and muscular. I actually want a shinier more metallic look, but I'm not sure if I want the PVC look because it's not as comfortable to wear at cons all day.
To each his own, I suppose, but there are definitely some things in the MCU that don't work in the comics and vice versa, as you said. I love the comics ability to have a little more freedom with colors and outfits, while I do appreciate a bit of realism and function. Such as: Widow always has weapons, and yet she rarely has a place to put them. For visual purposes, I love the sleek look, don't get me wrong, but it's nice to see a holster or utility belt once in a while. In Name of the Rose, she had an ankle holster and a knife on her other ankle, so that was great in keeping a sleek look but adding some functionality.
I love Hawkeye's purple suit, it's fantastic. I do love the writing by Fraction and that Hawkeye has his own series. As long as there's some balance, I like it. The Young Avengers I haven't read, but I like most of what I see. I think the thing about the Marvel comics universe is that there's so many realities they can alter practically anything. While this might not be a good thing, I suppose it's easy for the writers to do their own thing.
But for the movies, I like to see a little different from the comics storylines. Keeping it the same would be a bit dry, and it's fun to have some differences and artistic and creative liberties! All the more reason for why I'm extremely excited to see what unfolds in Cap 2 in the Spring.
Nerd rants can be fun!

Yes, actually that's what I was looking for, and that's what my old suit was before it got worn out, haha. It's nice and breathable, and I think it feels nicer than a lot of other fabrics.
I definitely agree with you on that! There's nothing wrong with looking good in a suit, but there's a difference between showing a little skin and being completely unrealistic. If I were a Marvel character trying to be stealthy, I would definitely have my suit zipped up to the neck, unless I was doing a lot of flipping around and such, in which case having it a little lower below the neck would make it more comfortable to move. It's nice to see Widow shown with her suit zipped up all the way sometimes, rather than being absurdly low.
Going slightly off subject here, but this is a good example as I'm an equestrian. Horses with harnesses and breast collars on their saddles need them to be snug and up high enough on their shoulders/necks so that it doesn't impede their shoulder/chest movement or get uncomfortable, but if it's not loose enough for them to put their heads down without choking or raise their legs up when they're running, it's counterproductive. So, going off that, I think the suits have a balance to find there too with proper zipped-up placement, haha.
It made me so happy to hear they were using Brubaker's run for reference! I would love to see Cap in a better suit, and I'm hoping they'll do a good exploration of the effects of Avengers with him, suit included. I agree with her suit color, I'm all for artistic license, and I like seeing some differences from the comics, but I also would love to see a more comic-esque version for a movie at some point. Not sure how I feel about her hair, I guess I'll have to wait for official footage and hope it looks a bit nicer than in the set shots.
