AND NOW FOR SOMETHING COMPLETELY DIFFERENT.Right now, in my sleep deprived state, I think this is one of the prettiest things I've ever drawn. Which is terrible, (note the title) because its contents will never happen. I must be in some weird unrequited-love binge.
Saw the pose in some random 4chan image on /y/. Couldn't get it out of my head, so I drew it later. I think it was FMA?

It seems like he is hugging her because she was having a nightmare about her 3 month premature birth of their son.. which inexplicably caused the childs death. How tragic!

it's beautiful, but I am not sure about the pose. The girl looks not just sad, but scared... And the guy, well he seems to be in the position of power. On some level, I find this image disturbing... however, it is still very beautiful, nicely done!

Man, unrequited love sucks big green donkey balls. If the two are close, one ends up rejected and down, because they can't help how they feel, and the other ends up guilty and awkward because they can't help how they don't feel. It's the big suck. Seriously.

It amazes me as an artist, that when you are sleep deprived, how much the mind works. Thinking of new creations, new visions, and you draw it out, and you come out with something amazing!

Mm, I like it, but I think it would have turned out nicer if you had mixed colors instead of using pure black.

It probably would have. But using different colors for lineart isn't second nature to me yet. I'm working on it!
Mm.. looking at this on a different screen.. it looks aweful purple and murky.
Does it look more of a gold/yellow brown to you or a red/purple brown? Curious.

I meant the shading or gradients. Looking at it again, it is kind of purpley, though. Maybe it's my bad eyes (my eyes don't differentiate color as well as normal people's do). Maybe wanna pick up some calibration soft since it looks different on multiple screens for you? You can get a reasonable one for around 30-50 USD, I think.
Also, maybe mixing colors for the light would have had a good effect, IMO. Maybe something kind of yellow or orangey?
