Notes before story

Uru will be referred to as Nuru. Both this version and the my main version of her will from this moment forward be called Nuru. As cards aren't known by lions (or any animals). Aand Nuru just sounds more like Uru then Ororo

Scar will be referred to as Askari in this universe. While my main until a proper name is given to him in the forsaken CGI sequel, will be known as Taka.

“He’s hunting me again,” Ahadi chuckled, glancing over to the boy, raising a brow. Mufasa was sat, half-facing the entrance to the den, his body relaxed. “Don’t know why he only hunts me when I’m facing him. I can see him,” he grumbled, glancing to his father out the corner of his eyes.

Chuckling again, he glanced to the entrance, spotting Nuru still hidden in the shadows. Beside her paws crouched low to the ground was their youngest, his green eyes narrowed, a wide grin on his face. She was whispering lowly to Askari, a smile on her face, as his tail fought to stay still. He took a slow, unsteady step towards them, chin nearly brushing the ground.

“He’s still learning, Mufasa,” Ahadi huffed, tilting his head down towards him. “It’s good practice for when he leads the Guard too.” He raised a paw to rub at his beard, closing his eyes, “besides would you rather he wait until your back was turned? Treat you like a threat or something to eat?”

“It would be smart,” Mufasa huffed right back at him, keeping his head pointed towards his brother. Who seemed to not mind taking in his steady approach. “And why don’t he learn to fight with us? Or the other cubs?”

He frowned, glancing between his two sons, before whispering, “Askari just… he needs more time Mufasa.” He watched his head drop, and continued, “your brother isn’t as strong as the others. Just a little bit longer, and then he can play with everyone else, alright?”

Mufasa took a moment, then turned his head to Ahadi with a smile. “Alright, and we can go with just us right? Askari and I?”

Ahadi wanted to frown again, at the idea of leaving Askari alone. His son, his smallest son, who they had to fight so he can take his first gulp of breath. Alone, without them to watch over him.

“We’ll see,” he answered, smiling again.

He watched him perk up, a wide grin crossing his face, “great! I can’t wait to show him all the-!” A red blur slammed into him, nearly knocking him upright and back. Mufasa laughed loudly, struggling to get an arm out to wrap around Askari who was giggling.

“Got you! I got you!” Askari giggled shrilly, waving his paws behind Mufasa wildly.

“You sure did!” He laughed right back.

Chuckling, he leaned back to watch the two, glancing to Nuru trotting towards them. “Good job, Askari,” she outright purred. She glanced to Ahadi, with a small smile, “shame we can’t have him on the Hunting Party.”

“I can hunt!” Askari crowed, his head pressed underneath Mufasa’s chin. “When I’m not training with Uncle, I can come hunt with you.”

Gasping, Mufasa glanced to his parents, “could I join? I want to learn how to hunt too!”

Chuckling, Ahadi shook his head, glancing to the bleeding sky, “we’ll see boys.”

Relatively short thing. Just wanted to draw the family.

Honestly I've become so fond of this AU. I was partially tempted to just.. scrap some of my main AU and slap this in place. But I feel it's best to keep it separated. And also im ridiculously attached to main AU as well (just... need to fix some things fjsmsmsmsm).

It's a fun little side thing to do when the Main universe is a bit too much.

Actually drew the background this time!

Also made Ahadi and Nuru a little bit older looking. Just cause they were olderish when they had the boys. Also healthier. Yeah Askari is just... unhealthy. Probably a premie, not sure exactly.

It's only when they're teens that the family kind of shatters.
