Skoll Anubis - Riolu ♀

Personality: Skoll comes off as an enigma- expressionless, unemotional and secretive. She rarely speaks, if at all, and her eyes are always wrapped in a blindfold, further distancing herself from everyone while holding a contemptuous image of solitude. However, there are times and certain situations that would force Skoll to break this cold persona, as the Riolu behind the mask is far from the uncaring Pokemon many are led to believe. She communicates mainly though emotions, guided by aura that can be felt by others either through contact (i.e touching with her paws) or through a forced glare if the emotion is strong enough. Likewise, Skoll can keep in check with her surroundings and the people in it by feeling their emotions and, to a somewhat lesser degree, sensing their aura. Through these brief instances, once can glimpse a very emotional pokemon encased in an otherwise emotionless shell, as willing to lay her life down to save a comrade as she is to destroy one for the same reason.

Skoll is far from aggressive, tending to observe things from a distance rather than actively participate, and conveys and directs proposed plans to others when crucial decisions are needed. In battle, she takes the role as ‘decoy’, pulling attention away from her stronger compatriots while they weather the foe down unhindered. Though her placidity and tolerance makes her anything but weak; everyone has their limits, and Skoll uses hers as a measure of how much she is forced to endure before she returns it all in fury.

She seems to hold a particular affinity to the metaphysical and the incorporeal (i.e: ghosts), and actively senses them whenever they’re around. Out of boredom, she learnt to manipulate aura to a minor degree, playing with the sparkling glitter that shimmers from her form and fashioning them in her mind to small glowing firefly-like images, which she uses to distract others or to calm with their placating light.

Bio: Skoll Anubis hails from The Anubis clan, a group dedicated to spiritual strength and connection with the natural world. Born of a prominent family within the clan, Skoll was given particular attention by her father in foreseeing her training and education in their clan’s beliefs and their role as wave guiders, fulfilling his ambitions for her to be one of the most proficient users of aura at such a young age. And Skoll was happy to be the perfect daughter to please her father with her swift progression…for a while. As she matured, her view of the world widened beyond the scope of what her father wished her to see, her increasing interests conflicting with her duties to her training, and as she furthered herself from her father’s vision, her father continually put the pressure on his daughter to perform well and ‘not shame the family name’. This only further spurred Skoll’s rebellious behavior, to the point where, in a fit of rage, attacked with a move that temporarily blinded the Riolu.

“Until you can appreciate the light, you can wallow in the darkness,” were the words that echoed in her ears, branded by the image of her father’s scowling face. Interestingly, however, the punishment did more for Skoll’s benefit than for what it was intended, as it forced her to become more in tune with her aura sensing to be able to navigate through her daily life while her eyes recovered. She found an awareness of the world that went further beyond the enlightenment she felt her father, blinded by his beliefs and his own self-righteousness, could have ever achieved, and decided that the life she needed to live was not here. In further defiance to her father’s ways, she kept a blindfold over her eyes long after they’ve recovered, and left a parting message to him- a retort of his own spiteful words: “Until you’ve learned to embrace the darkness, you will never understand the light.”

At some point in her journey, she had ran across an old acquaintance of hers, who had left his own clan for similar reasons. Decided it would behoove them to help one another, they formed a partnership and eventually decided that joining a guild would be the first step towards a new beginning.

Garuda Ra - Torchic ♂

Personality:The opposite of Skoll in more ways than one, Ra can be considered the muscle of the group, usually the first to enter a fight. Combat is something he lives for, to be the strongest his greatest mission. His short temper makes him a difficult person to deal with, as he never likes being outdone by anyone, told what to do or that he is in the wrong, but his desire to learn is genuine and will often rethink his actions if he feels that what he’s doing may jeopardize himself or others in some way. While he comes off as apathetic to everything but his own personal interests, he still holds a personal code of honor to look out for others who are in need and would never fight someone he considers below his level in combat.

Ra’s fighting style may border on ‘ruthless’ in a controlled one on one battle, though the very situational nature of his job as a Rogue has forced him to focus more on strategy rather than blindly run headlong with all his power. Its in these instances that he willingly listens to Skoll’s advice, knowing the Riolu’s power of foresight to be a great asset in determining the best ways of accomplishing their goals, and more often than not it doesn’t necessarily include beating your opponents to a bloody pulp. Ra excels in physical moves, with strength and fury that defy his diminutive size, though his fire techniques are a little less than polished, leaving them to be more of a last resort strategy where melee fighting is ineffective (aka BURN EVERYTHING).

His personal time is spent honing his body, using whatever resources available that would continually push his abilities to the limit. He cares very little for socializing, leaving Skoll to the task and often have her report back to him anything of interest that would further prove their worth to the guild.

Bio: Ra comes from the Garuda Tribe, an isolated community amongst the lush forests and streams of their mountainous habitat. Only those descended from the bloodline of the original founder of the clan bears the name Garuda, and rarely within the generations does one stand out with the infamous melanism that harkens back the memories of their powerful ancestor. Though those who have lived long enough to remember regard the young successor with reverence, many others, however, view the darker Torchic as strange and inferior. Ra was born smaller and weaker to other Torchics his age, taking far longer to mature where others were already in the midst of training their way up the ranks in Garuda society. A literal ‘black sheep’ amongst his kind, he struggled to find his place amongst those who either mocked, avoided, or bullied him, whereas elders stood by without offering comfort or assistance, believing this was yet another hardship that their young warriors must go through in their journey for perfection.

Garuda Ra would have none of it, deciding to make his own personal journey out into the wilds and away from his frustrations. While typical for most warriors to make such odysseys, it was not for someone so young to make such a trip and expect to survive. But, like his legendary forbearer, he was stubborn to the core, and once his mind was made up, there was nothing that could be done to convince it otherwise. Ra would have to face his fate on his own. The months that followed were no easier than his days back home, now without those to watch his back and having to fight for his survival. But with every hardship, he faced it headlong, seeking the challenge that would force him to grow stronger than what the others believed he would ever be. Through sheer luck, he had managed to become reacquainted with an old friend from a neighboring clan in his ventures, and while visibly displaying discontent to her company, was silently appreciative of finding a companion that did not judge him so critically as so many had done.

In time, they heard of the village where Pokemon formed guilds, assisting other Pokemon in sometimes dangerous missions. Feeling as if it could somehow bring back the honor he felt had been lost back at his home, Ra decided that working as a member for a guild would be the first step of his redemption.
