Description Tucked away from the main path is a shrine that I love. It is old, and seems to need some care in the roof, but I love it all the same.

To me, it feels like gingerbread; like a German fairy tale, with a Japanese twist.

Or maybe I'm just a romantic, who knows...

More from this shoot
Mid-December, we checked out a car and decided to go to Usa Jingū . It is one of the largest shrines in the area, and one of the most important Shinto shrines dedicated to kami Hachiman in the country. It is a huge complex of many shrines, which we only got to see about a quarter of in our time there. We will be heading back once it gets warmer out (and the colors aren't so drab), and taking many pictures. For now, however, here are some of the pictures from this midwinter shoot.

Been doing pretty good! Husband got a new job at the beginning of the year that he loves, so that's awesome. Just chugging along.
