Description All of my friends now hoard small pieces of paper, findings and fabric for me. I actually feel bad for them, because they go out of their way to find me pretty packaging, handmade papers, or all sorts of things they come across. This was from a really fancy restaurant in Kyoto, where the holders for the chopsticks are made from handmade paper. My friend said she got weird looks from her family when she grabbed all of them and shoved them in her purse after the meal.

I owe her big time for that, because they make wonderful little pins, which I am obsessed with lately. This fan shape especially.

Tsuru (鶴) are a wonderful symbol of Japan. You can see them everywhere, from traditional paintings and woodblock prints, to folded origami cranes made by children.

This pin is in the shape of a Japanese folding fan, featuring handmade paper with beautiful red colored fans. It is accented with golden cherry blossoms, red jewels, and folded origami cranes. Behind it is a golden curving accent.

~pin length..............3cm/1.2in
~pin width................4cm/16in
~materials.........................crystal resin, Japanese paper, glass crystals, brass findings
