Wonderful concept you have! I really love the cloak/mask design! Are the wings surgically added to his energy so he can use them for himself? How Exactly does he absorb energy? (I have no idea what your headcanon for Journey is like, but I'm really interested to hear your take on these things)

The eye in his forehead there is what they're absorbed through, much like the large war machines. The wings and all the mechanics were surgically added, yes. He was meant as a sort of general/mothership for the machines, to keep the attacks organized and tactical, so he has control over those. Many years later, when the redcloaks appeared, he's just a cursed monster that uses the machines and what's left of what were once his people to 'feed' himself and keep living.

Are the redcloaks made entirely of cloth in your canon? Or are they people in cloaks?

people, but different than the ancients. (mostly because my RP partner was bent on cat ears XD)

(I understand XD the humans in the canon I follow have horns to make those hood points instead of ears, but they are not mentioned very much. I'm a clothy, personally, so all of my OCs are made of sentient, energy filled cloth lol)
So....Who are the Ancients? Are you referring to the Ancestors? (I call those white tall guys the Ancestors) and how are they different?

Yeah, I mean the ancestors. And just built more like actual humans than the red cloaks, who have more catlike features, ears and feet (to account for the tiptoe look in the design. And again, my RP partner loves cats. A lot XD)

I see XD Well I'm glad they are referred to as "cat" features, everyone I've asked before has gotten SUPER offended when I called them cat ears omg.
How elaborate is your canon? Do you have like...An awesome back-story as to how/why the war started? Did your OC have a hand in it, or was he just used for the wars means? Where there other like him in the past?

We've got a bit of backstory on it, yeah. It broke out because of the dwindling supply of the cloth, which was used as a sort of replacement for electricity. The government was trying to crack down on the black market as the rationing started to get unfair on the citizens. Theon here was a kid when the rationing first started, late teens when things started to get bad. Living conditions were terrible as factories were built to create the machines that were at first meant to search and retrieve the cloth. They were being modified for battle in secret, as the government predicted the outbreak. The nasty atmosphere of the city was activating Theon's younger sister's condition, and medical bills were pretty high. He got a job in one of the factories to try and help make ends meet for his family. Was offered higher pay to participate is test running some new technology, and he took it. The specifics weren't given on the tech exactly, and they'd tried with a few others, but he was the only one to survive the procedure. Naturally, his family was given the payment for his involvement in that, but they were also told he died in an accident. From there he was a part of the arsenal, and the war soon broke out. Starting small, a few attempts to crack down on the black market, unhappy citizens make for a rebellious retaliation. They did well destroying most factories, but definitely suffered huge blows due to the government's better tech. The rebellion was squashed, but the land was destroyed by the urbanization and militarization of the area all around. With the climate change coming in as a result, and not enough attention payed to farming, anyone left starved to death. They were all wiped out, except for Theon. He survived on the cloth now, the machines stuck into him keeping him alive.
His sister had joined the rebellion when she was old enough, but her condition was aggravated again. She wasn't able to survive one of the machine attacks Theon led. (Because we're horrible to our characters.)
He was left alone for ages, really just surviving, pushing away memories of what had transpired, and just becoming the feared monster that commanded the flying machines.

Oh geez, you've just opened the flood gates my friend XD I'll do my best to narrow this world down, but there is A LOT I won't cover unless asked lol I'll just give some general stuff. Full credit for this canon is given to my friends, Protevus and Chirp. (In the Journey fandom on Tumblr, we all call ourselves by our main Journey OCs name, I'm called Ater, and then there is Ossia, and all four of us keep adding new things all the time)
I would send you a full detailing link to this canon if I could, but it's still a work in progress, and the full write up has yet to be written.
So with that in mind....Here we go.
I'll start with the "people".
The Ancestors (the tall white guys) are made of cloth. Some Ancestors posses one set of arms, to two, all the way up to three sets of arms. The ones with three sets of arms are called "highborns". They are also twelve feet tall, though some can be shorter. Some Ancestors are gifted with abilities, but there is only a 20% chance. Only one of my four Ancestor characters had an ability, (and it went horribly, horribly wrong in the end). The Ancestors came before the Rythulains, (the little guys, I wouldn't call them "redcloaks" since they come in a dizzying array of colors XD) I won't go into the full story about how they were made, but the Ancestor, Protevus, made them as experiments. They soon became intelligent and were able to reproduce on their own. The Rythualins were made from observation of other cloth creatures, such as those big cloth whales and such. Soon, (because Protevus is a prideful, boasting little prick XD) The plans soon got out, and the practice of how to make cloth creatures was soon learned by those who studied it. So potentially, all Ancestors could have learned to make their own constructs. (I have and Ancestor who did just that, but that's not important, her bio is in my gallery if you're really interested, but I doubt it XD)
Protevus took it a step further. He built the very first War Machine....the legendary Verfolger himself. You know the cutscene in game where you see that one GAINT war machine depicted above all the others? That's him. He's freakin' huge. Problem is....It was so big, it required tons of energy to even fly, thus, the smaller and more common War Machines were made, along with a few other unique models. The Machines themselves were hollow inside, allowing space for a pilot. They were originally made for harvesting. But....That would soon change. Since the was was imminent, Protevus made the Warkin. They were made to be pilots of the machines, and were equipped with mouths and teeth in their masks, and used as a defense in case they got knocked out of their "husk". Then, there was the Gaurdainkin. They are shorter and smaller, made as mechanics for the machines, not really fighters. Given, the machines mostly had Warkin in them, some Ancestors piloted the machines as well.
The war went nuclear, (no thanks to Ancestor Ulan) and many huge, powerful bombs destroyed half the planet. For years and years, the surface was uninhabitable, and many died. The Ancestors (what was left of them) all went into hiding, and some saved energy by turning into statues (the ones you sit with to have a confluence with in the game) chirping at them wakes them up a little bit. The Ryhtulains thrived in the desert, forming tribes and factions together. Warkin are still around, and have become corrupted. The Corruption is a draining effect on a Rythulain, basically making them tired and fatigued if they don't consume energy, and this is done a number of ways. They have come to be feared since most of them choose to eat others, while some are non violent and find other alternatives to killing. The Warkin are all black and red, and the Corruption itself can be spread to any one through a bight, or a simple touch, it just depends on how corrupted one is. The Corruption will take hold, and the once normal Ruthulain will turn black, and their patterns will turn a crimson red.
The Rythulains life does not consist of the "journey". It is something they travel to when they are about to die, and revitalize themselves.
The Rythulains also have "heart symbols", which is our equivalent of a heart. If their heart symbol is destroyed, they will die. The "humans" live in the part of the planet that isn't desert, and that part is really far away, so we don't talk about them much yet...We also need to figure out a name for the species. Those guys have really cool, lizard like feet so they can walk better on the sand, and like I said before, they have horns and wear lots of cloak like clothing.
I need to stop
Uhm.....Any quetions?

Not really, you explained it well. It sounds really cool! In our canon, the travelers, redcloaks, be it what it may (we don't really have an official name XD) were created by the ancestors long after the war ended and they all died, from the higher spiritual plane they ended up in. The energy spent on their journey to the mountain was actually meant to revitalize the land that they'd ruined. Theon just saw it as a waste when they started to appear, and just kept climbing the mountain to their deaths, one after another, then being reborn to do it again. By this point all the centuries of loneliness had driven his memory of what had happened before far off from what he could recall. So he just did the sensible thing, and rather than allow what he thought a waste, he took their energy, and killed them to keep himself alive. Works a lot like that corruption actually.
