History: Born to loving parents in Sky Village, Minoru was raised to have a big heart and a warm smile for anyone who crossed his path. Rare was a day when Minoru had a full stomach, but there was never a moment in his life that he was struck by the hollow pangs of hunger. His family was modest in wealth, getting by on a day to day basis. But they were happy, and that was all that mattered to the young Minoru, who grew to love the outdoors and exploration, a luxury afforded to him by his carefree childhood. This freedom and carelessness blinded Minoru from the brewing trouble in his house, and despite the perceptiveness of children, he did not notice the worried glances exchanged between his parents, or the late nights his father spent poring over scrolls of paper.

But catastrophe struck and his parents suddenly failed to return home. An only child due to his mother’s poor stamina and difficulties in bearing children, Minoru returned from his daily adventures to an empty house. At first finding nothing particularly out of place with how unusual it was for his mother at the least not to return home, Minoru cheerfully went about his activities without much thought. But as time passed throughout the night, Minoru grew increasingly anxious, knocking around on neighbors’ doors and asking if they had seen his parents. Faced with shaking heads and doors shut in his face, the child passed the first night of complete solitude he had ever experienced in his entire life, fearing that he would never see his parents again. By the generosity of his neighbors, Minoru stayed another two weeks in his empty house, and at the end of this duration of time, still not a trace of his parents was to be found.

The neighbors, burdened by Minoru’s presence, encouraged the young boy to travel in order to search for his parents—and so he followed the next adventurer who made the grave mistake of stopping in the village, sticking to the old Arcanine like glue. Minoru lucked out however, having found a good natured man who enjoyed Minoru’s company—a refreshing change of pace. From this man Minoru learned the basics of surviving in the wilderness, the ways to live without a permanent home. Well into his teens, the man decided he was officially too old to be running around anymore—and he settled in scorched mountain, an ideal habitat for him. Disliking solo travel, Minoru joined his guide, but made it his mission to spend each and every day mapping and finding new things on the burning rock to keep up the spirit of discovery.

- He actually finds Scorched Mountain to be a very uncomfortable environment in terms of the heat, but doesn’t want to be sent away so he keeps it to himself.
