Heh. Never done a brown-themed pic before o_OThis is a LONG, LONG, LOOOOOONG overdue piece for .
It's Jasmine, a character of hers.
I know it's probably not what she imagined, but I did the best I could from the descrip-- kindof a half wolf, half cat, with colors seeming to be themed around black, pink, turquoise, blue, and brown.
It was actually completed at least a month ago, but I was waiting to upload it because I wanted to put her name in that glaringly empty background, and fix that sickeningly wonky foot she's stretching out there.
Needless to say, I got wound up in other things (mainly wedding things >_< ) and forgot about it. (and seeing as I'm not going to have free time enough to do art until during or even AFTER December, I figured I may as well get this uploaded.
Otherwise it may be another YEAR.. lol.
Anyway, ~Ravenwolf89 : I'm so sorry this took so long, and I'm sorry if it wasn't what you expected/wanted! I've come to find out I'm not so good at doing characters without some sort of visual reference. Gah. Hope it's okay!

It's so beautifully textured. Her jewellery is gorgeous. All the colours work really well together.

Looks great, really nice pose and character. The wolf/cat does kinda come through. The colours work well to accent the fairly plain brown and the black clothing.
You seem to be using brighter colours more often now, though I guess it isn't exactly all up to your own decisions. It really works with your stuff though, maybe you should crack out the bright pastels and fluorescents on a regular basis.

If it were up to me, I'd be doing color themed art all the time and stay in a fairly monochromatic scheme - mostly grays with some dark greens or reds.
But yeah, the past few pieces I've done have required me to work with colors I don't normally. Pinks and purples and bright blues.. and white. *shudder*

I find working outside your comfort zone often gives good results, makes you push yourself harder to move forward with your style/skill, I'm currently starting the process of making a realistic 3D animateable head, which is still kinda daunting
