This most certainly is a very well executed piece.
I actually like the angle, looking upward to the tower, making the surroundings look imposing on the viewer which adds to the intensity.
The choice of colors is excellent and it does convey the power and force of a nuclear blast in combination with the heat very well. I can almost hear sirens warning of the blast going off and the way the picture was composed does make it look like some old photograph that could be found in a top secret file you might dig up in some government bunker somewhere.
I also enjoyed the quote of Albert Einsten and it's without question that inventions such as nuclear power rather than just harnessing it for the purpose of providing energy was developed as a weapon. Humans everywhere despite diversity and - however ridiculous that is - racial issues share one thing: Curiosity.
Unfortunately another notion is "because we can" and as this piece well points out in all it's subtle intensity that is not always the choice one would hope is made.

Wow, you took a really impressive, self-explaining, structured and at the same time surreal photograph, that critizises a very important topic in our society: nuclear bombs.
The dazzling light - symbolizing the nuclear explosion - creates a huge contrast between the sky and the silhouette of the mast. For me, the mast expresses in a way how human beings destroy themselves by contaminating the environment. The mast is the last monument of the humans that indicates we have lived.
In reference to the bomb is the first part of the title, that confuses me: THC. After thinking about it, it came to my mind that people must take drugs to do such cruel things like throwing atomic bombs. Is this association right?
Also, technique is very good, but the perspective doesn't make me absolutely happy. Perpahs a better integration to the surroundings would have been better, but that only is a minimal thing that can only be noted when you are loking for "mistakes" - and it is not even a mistake.
The analogue-style editing fits perfectly to the historical context, that these bombs have been thrown excessively decades ago.

oh.. i only saw a new deviantWatch-message, i have't seen this gallery before, i am sorry.
Now knowing what THC means, the interpretation of atomic bombs can be seen as right, but THC as a drug, well, one can think about it^^
I like this photograph best of THC-series, but the others - of course - are impressive, too

I find this to be a passionate photo. The quote is a perfect caption. Makes you think more deeply of what it is you are trying to convey in the photo. I love the effects and the color, it gives it that fiery, hot, atomic look, I could imagine the unwelcome blast of heat. I like also how you chose a random location over a more well known place, I think it may hit home to a lot more people. A powerful apocalyptic photo. ^_^
