Let's start off with the praise: Darkrai is the center of attention here and you did a very nice job with him (should I call it "it" because it's genderless? lol). Now I can see that you did distinguish him from the background with the white lines; if there weren't, we couldn't tell what's what haha e.deviantart.net/emoticons/b/b… " width="15" height="15" alt="
You also implemented the light sources, as it appears behind Darkrai as well as the darks.
The background greatly suits the atmosphere and it appears like a Halloween setting! The crooked roofs and everything add into the mood, so great job! e.deviantart.net/emoticons/b/b… " width="15" height="15" alt="
Now with improvements: background. I would like to know WHEN this was at? Night? Day? It appears to be day, but how can it be when everything is dark like night?
If it was night, then there would be a moon instead of a burning sun. Also, I do notice that the background contains white dots that resemble stars. I don't think stars come out on the day lol. It would be nice if there were shooting stars, like streaks of white (if you were going for a nighttime setting).
Also, I did notice that some light sources (not all!) are off. There are highlights on Darkrai's red scarf (or whatever it's called haha e.deviantart.net/emoticons/a/a… " width="19" height="19" alt="

I'll admit, I'm writing mainly writing this critique for Darkrai. They are my favorite legendary in the franchise and my favorite Dark-type. I was unstintingly intrigued after first viewing this piece so lets go deeper.
Darkrai itself is terrifying. His claws seem to want to grip your soul and drag it away. The aura streaming along intensifies the effect, especially with the one eye glowing at the viewer. The waves gracefully with it's movement and the perspective is wonderful.
On to the background, I like how the harvest moon is large and ominous over the town, giving Darkrai a sense of dominance and it's power. The night sky could have been darker but it does helps outline Darkrai. But here's where it loses points, the town. Tim Burton may be a large influence on Gothic culture but I don't like how the town is paralleling similar to Nightmare Before Christmas. It doesn't really help to set the mood when Darkrai is already in a place of literal nightmares and it loses it's sense of threat as everything already is. The trees and road are nicely done, I'll give it that.
But I love Darkrai and I adore the Darkria here. It definitely creates the impact here and its awesome. And keep being that way.
