I'm sure it's noted, but it appears the character on the right is turning his head slightly away from camera. As well as they are not symmetrically aligned.
Is there any background story on the two characters that I can read up on?

Now THIS is nice. As everyone before me has already said: This stuff is great.
Your style reminds me of a cross between Tite Kubo and Masashi Kishimoto. Heh. And THAT cross is a very unique and good looking one.
I've got to get as good as this! He he. It will take a long time no doubt, but then I'll be able to forge my many stories into...Manga! Well, the ones that I find that would actually have a chance of making it, that is. >_>
