1st of all, Happy Easter, 2nd, This is the 1962 Peel P50, still the world's smallest production car. With a 49cc (0.049Litre) 1 Cylinder 4-Stroke engine, producing a whopping 3.35BHP, top speed of 38mph (61KPH), and doesn't have a 0-60 time.
It's a hilariously small car that can go quite quickly for less than 4BHP. The original was built between 1962 - 1965, where only 50 were produced, it's estimated 27 of those still exist. However, in. 2007, it was put in the spotlight on Top Gear and interest in the little car was re-ignited. So much so that in 2011, business men Gary Hillman and Faizal Kahn went on Dragons Den with it and got £80,000 investment from the Dragons. This was a good start to reproduce the cars but with modern spec, so better suspension, steering and drive-train, the new ones also included a reverse gear which the original did not.
beck in 1962, a Peel P50 cost £199 ($259), so with inflation for modern currency that is about £4,500. Better yet, in 2016 at auction, an original P50 sold for $176,000!
The modern Peels are selling at about 15 P50's annually, the UK market inclines towards the Petrol version while the US market goes towards the Electric version.
