Description So, since it's taking a while for me to make my review and I'm currently putting the stiggy asset file together..
I've decided to make another "ingen asset meets it's ancestor"
It's nothing that complex....

Here we have a waterfall where a Ingen Baryonyx (or as I call it: Baryonyx spenius habiculum Ingensis) comes acroos several of his ancestral counterparts (Baryonyx walkeri)
tell me what you think of this image?

(particularly theferretman21  and OtakuSauridae  )

I was unbelievably disappointed when I saw the model they were using for the Bary in fallen kingdom. I was so hyped to see the golden, yellow versions but obviously we didn’t get those.

maybe but just understand that ingen's assets are de-extinct creatures.

True, but what I am saying is that the two versions are kind of like subspecies, one version being the "accurate version" and the other version being the "crocodilian version" because of obvious reasons.

Considering the similarities they have, it's likely possible that they could be a subspecies to each other.

KingGhidra78 In reply to NTSEFAN [2019-09-28 15:19:11 +0000 UTC]

Using that logic, you could say all Spinosaurids are subspecies of each other to some degree.
In my opinion anyway.

Or there is the possibility that they could be a male and female variant, just like some of the other dinosaurs and some animals.

Considering that sexual dimorphism is common in some of the animals where both genders of the animals tend to look different from one of another, it's likely possible.

Taliesaurus In reply to NTSEFAN [2019-02-25 10:17:23 +0000 UTC]

true but it depends on the animal in question.

no, they are both baryonyx.

one is accurate.
the other is genetically modified in a lab for the purpose of being a theme park attraction.

Why would they get rid of barys most famous feature if its a genetically modified in a lab for the purpose of being a theme park attraction? Like the mega claw. I thought kids wanted to see that stuff after all they saw that stuff in the books

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Taliesaurus In reply to Liopurodon4x [2018-10-07 10:21:08 +0000 UTC]

because...
1- most people OVER EXAGGERATE THE CLAW.

2- as for the face, THE SAME THING HAPPENed with spinosaurus, certaosaurus, dilophosaurus and MANY more.

Actually the spinosaurus was accurate for its time.

Liopurodon4x In reply to Taliesaurus [2018-10-07 17:18:09 +0000 UTC]

That part was ridiculus. I wonder why they would do that. This park is to inspire kids. So adding a frill makes no sense.

THIS IS INGEN WERE' talking about.

plus these mutations happen because:
1- they are working with an INCOMPLETE genome.
2- NOBODY knows 100% what the originals looked like.
3- ingen is currpt and tries to make their attractions more "appealing"

as Henry Wu said in TWO quotes:
Novel- "the past is GONE, we can never bring it back, all we've done is RECONSTRUCT the past, or rather a VERSION of it"

JW movie- "you are acting like we are engaged in some kind of mad science, but we are DOING what we've done from the beginning, NTHING in jurassic world is NATURAL, we've have ALWAYS filled the genomes with the DNA of other animals, And, if their genetic code was pure, many would look qutie different, but you didn't ask for REALITY you asked for MORE TEETH"

really?

Taliesaurus In reply to Liopurodon4x [2018-10-07 18:40:40 +0000 UTC]

yes, it's been explained MULTIPLE times in the story...
and it's the logic of de-extinction:

basically...

the idea of them not being fully accurate to their ancestral counterparts is actually more realistic if one takes the time to understand the logic of "DE-EXTINCTION”, both in the film and real life. I found a little thought experiment that demonstrates this pretty soundly…

Basically, you’ve heard about how scientists are working hard at recreating the mammoth, the Tasmanian tiger and the dodo?

well, if we were to somehow bring back the mammoth, the reality the people don’t consider it would never be a “pure” mammoth but instead a sort of elephant-mammoth hybrid.

even if we were to have 90% or even 98% "pure" mammoth there'd always be that lingering difference to it's ancestor, like what if it's tusks never grew as long as you wanted or it's trunk is never as flexible as a mammoth's trunk (which was 5 times more dextrous) or what if it never developed a full covering of body hair

And bare in mind that dinosaurs have been extinct for much longer than any mammoth, and there are FAR more unknowns they have little-to-no idea about so you’d see a few more differences. Mammoths , by comparison are more or less more animals.

what about the frog dna shouldn't the dinosaurs look more like frogs and not komodo dragons

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Taliesaurus In reply to Liopurodon4x [2018-10-08 09:50:54 +0000 UTC]

they are NOT half frog, most organisms share a LARGE portion of their DNA with every other animal
(like how we share 50% of our DNA with a chicken)

simply put: they were mainly using frog DNA to fix the "faultly" genes in the DNA.
