After my wife and child were taken as equivalent exchange in the terrible experiments were my former master used Aetherium, I had horrid maddening nightmares. I felt the Old ones watching me. They called me to them with a cacophony of monotone flutes that bore to my very soul. And I looked out into the endless void of space and saw the great eye of Azathoth looking through me and in my terror......I spooned out my own eye ....closing the window of my soul forever.
