Masakazu Katsura. Enough said.Whew! After a long toil over a model I used from Katsura-sama's Shadowlady I finally got the right pose and form for my friend's OC. I'm really proud of it and though I'm sure I messed up here or there, I'm happy with it. And I hope that my friend who requested it is happy with it too.
I'm thinking of never ever doing this style again because it's such a pain to do. Detailing is all pretty and good, but it was so uncomfortable and unnatural. And her freakin' bust and butt was hard! My sanity was lost quite a number of times.
Materials used: Prismacolour markers, 4H pencil, Sharpie marker, Uniball pen

I read a book where the author (who is a renowned artist) actually say copying is okay as a learning tool. He made some good arguments such as learning the basics and getting a feel for things. But he's adamant that eventually we develop our own style, which I believe is a wonderful comment.
As for the tracing incident, I think your "drop in skill level" came from having a bad day because like you say, it's very unlikely you'd do THAT poorly in one shot. We all have them.
But art is a learning process - and a fun one at that!

o yes i would love it if she was my Assassin...lol ,but i would use all my wresling moves to survive. well any well i think its cool looking,,, so did you use marker.

Special markers? Well, the brown and yellow is Crayola while the blue is Prismacolour. Black is a Sharpie permanent pen. No special tools.
