I love how mysterious the mermaid looks. Beautiful and graceful, but you can't be quite sure she isn't dangerous. I think it's mainly the light reflected in her eyes.

Mermaids in old mythology were creatures of true beauty and the most charming voices. They would call to sailors and flirt with them in any way possible. ...oh, by the way they are carnivores and their main food source are sailors. So those two kids really try to become fish food.
There are many stories how the myth about them got started, but I think the sailors were just scared, someday they meet some kind of fish/human hybrid on the sea what called them "papa".

I don't know if there is a particular plan for this series of images but I'd love to see them as a book at some point in the future. <3 Reminds me of some of the art books full of inexplicable magic and whimsy I grew up with and there's a particular longing that goes along with them.

I'm loving this series- the concept is really fun and creative, and the dark blue lighting comes out beautifully. My favorite artworks are always the ones that tell a story.
