Hero Stats
Hero Name: Photosynth
Quirk: Green Thumb
Reed is able to control the speed & direction of the growth of any plant he maintains physical contact with at the expense of his own energy. The plants he has manipulated can grow bigger, stronger and much more sturdy than any plant might grow naturally, making them more effective if he needs to utilize them in combat or a rescue situation.
Limitations:
He can't create or grow plants that dont already exist. This puts him at a disadvantage in urban areas with no plant growth.
He can't revive/manipulate a completely dead plant (he can help it come back from the brink, but if it's dead it's dead.)
The bigger/more dense a concentration of plants he controls, the more energy it drains from him.
Primary Course Focus: Rescue Hero
Personals
Personality: Reed is a relatively shy young man, much more used to the quiet nature of flora than he is people. Oftentimes he doens't know how to say no, becoming an easy doormat to people that might take advantage of him- the catch being, if they can even corner him long enough to try and ask him for something before he's slithered away to go and bury his head in a shrub. Once past his shy exterior he's a jovial person at heart, and though he's not much of a fighter, he's willing to extend himself above and beyond in order to help save others from danger- sometimes at cost to himself, which he has a bad habit of laughing or shrugging off.
Likes: Sunny days, and rainy days. Stretching out outside on a warm day with a book to read and nature all around him.
Dislikes: Large crowded cities. Loud sudden noises. Fire.
History: Having grown up buried neck deep in the luscious gardens and greenhouses that his parents owned and operated, he spent his entire childhood with his hands happily in the dirt. No one was surprised when he manifested a plant manipulation quirk, and his parents were eager to raise him to one day take over the family business. Reed, however, had other ideas for his future as he watched with wonder as superheros started popping up all over the world. His parents immediately tried to dissuade him when they found out. His mother fretted wildly that he'd only end up hurt and killed and his father insisted that his quirk couldn't be used as a hero- it was meant to heal and help plants grow, not fight crime.
He was devastated by their refusal to let him attend any hero classes or schools, and he watched with sad yearning as many of his friends got to go off and play hero without him. He graduated from a regular high school, following his parents wishes to learn the family business at the greenhouses for a time. All the while he still secretly harbored a desire to elope off to become a superhero, watching the news constantly in his down time. Fortunately for him, his parents were some of the only people actively attempting to keep him from pursuing his desire to be a hero. Of the many people that filtered through the greenhouses during the springtime, almost all of them would shower him in compliments upon learning about his quirk, and a good number remarked that it could do wonders to help rescue people as a hero.
It was enough to refuel Reed's childhood dream, and against his parents wishes and protests, he applied for Schuyler University.
Extras:
- On his belt he carries an array of extra gadgets and tools.

- One of the tools on his belt is a pair of enhanced garden clippers (weapon) for when he can't use his quirk.
- When experiencing extremely heightened emotions he starts to bloom tiny flowers in his hair.
- Because of how much plant manipulation he does on a daily basis, he lives off a horribly unhealthy diet of Way Too Many Energy Drinks
