Art backlog dump go! = DThis is a long overdue anteater for , in return for some previous Karmageddon assistance. The assistance was very much appreciated; the reward was ridiculously late. xD; But. Hopefully it turned out alright!
Icon requested his anteater be climbing a tree, so I did some research on anteaters to try and find out what would be the most likely sort to find in a tree. So this is a Southern Tamandua. I found them really interesting animals, and also dang fun to draw. xD
Anywho. Thanks for the help, Icon! I hope you enjoy your anteater. <3

I saw this a while ago, and I keep seeing it as Icon's NTWF av, and I marvel at it every time. I really love the way this came out, Tamia--the colors and the layout, even that dark border around it, make it really appealing to look at; it's like I'm looking at a wildlife postcard, except in cartoon form. I really like the sweep of the anteater's body and the fluffy volume you've given its body and fur, and how its tail is curling around that nicely detailed branch. The whole scene is really pleasing to the eye.

The little tree-details and the lighting and the fact that I think that is the most cuddly-looking anteater I have ever seen.

Tamanduas are unbelievably cuddly-looking! If you haven't already, you need to go look up pictures of tamanduas. Do it. They're like teddy bears. Toothless, long-nosed teddy bears with prehensile tails and huge claws. = D

I like all the details you put into the tree branches. Just by the way they look, they give a nice idea of what kind of habitat the cute little anteater lives in. :3
