A comic to celebrate the upcoming Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival. Since Princess Luna is the princess of the night and the one who is in charge of raising the moon, I think it is fitting to have her dress up as the Chinese moon goddess, Chang'e and having mooncakes.

EDIT:

Just to clear things up. The Bat Ponies in panel 2 are Luna's personal guards/servants not the diplomats. They are presenting the diplomats' gifts to her (Since Hasbro has not yet shown us any ponies from China, unless of course you count the shopkeeper that sold the Alicorn Amulet to Trixie).

Actually,you're spot on,the mid autumn festival is a Chinese(maybe Japanese,I'm not too sure) one when people get to play with lanterns,candles and eat mooncakesΒ

For those of you who are wondering when is the festivities, it's at 13th September 2015 (1st day of eighth month in Chinese lunar calendar) until 27th September 2015 (15th day of eighth month in Chinese lunar calendar). The date varies each year, though. Chinese usually celebrate grandly at the last day of festivities, under the beautiful night sky of the full moon.
