Some people think that the movie should have a sequel, but i personally believe that a sequel doesn’t seem necessary since the film stands pretty well on its own. What we all need is a TV series or at the very least a mini series of shorts similar to toy story toons and mater’s tall tales.

However if they do make a sequel, I can see it being about an adult Mei who helps her own daughter, maya, through the red panda in a modern age. Like she strongly suggests her daughter to keep her panda, which the daughter does, but still needs to help her with trying to get through with it since it’s the time of smart phones and drones and stuff like that.
