Description For Otakon I was finally able to debut my newer, updated version of one of my first costumes: Yoruichi Shihouin from Bleach! I love her character, and I'm glad that I decided to re-do the entire costume.

This shot is one of the only few I've really got of Yoruichi, and I love it. 8D

Lovely. How did you style the wig? And is that cardstock on her shin guards?

I actually ordered a long wig from taobao (group order), and then tied the back into a low braid. I then lifted that braid up and clipped it into place, allowing the unbraided-part of the ponytail to hang and cover the clipped hair. Realizing I could hide the clips further, I used her signature hair-band around the ponytail, making it look as though I really tied up the wig. ;D

As for her shinguards, I had no time to make anything, so I used poster-board HAHA! XD It managed to work though! XD

So did you have a portion under the ponytail that looked like it had been braided, or was it braided so low that it was all smooth hair on the back of the wig?

Nice! I used a huge piece of card stock for my shin guards. :3

And where in the world did you find such perfect shoes? O.o;

The hair surrounding it looks as though it's tied into the wig, not braided. I did make sure to leave hairs at the bottom of the wig hanging to cover up stray hairs from my own head, if that makes sense. XD

I followed this tutorial: [link] , but modified the clips I used when I did it. Hope it helps!

I'd like to make actual shinguards sooner or later out of something that doesn't rip at the bottom with something like craft foam, but for now they worked. ^^

As for the shoes...I painted an old pair of flats in layers. XD

Oh, I see what you mean. Thanks!

Haha, I think I might have to try that with a pair of flats I have. :3

I think I used paint meant for walls (it was leftover paint from a friend XD) for the flats but they were also made out of softer material so the paint stuck really well. XD

Glad I can help! ^^
