Description The cute little dudes from the Final Fantasy series. I made this model on the request of Ivy:

Box modelling techniques, with depth of field effect, HDRI reflections and lighting. I have pretty high hopes for this model, I'm going to try to make a more realistic looking texture and materials and animate him in some funny little shorts (the animations, not the apparel, silly).

Let me know what you guys think of it! Comments are always welcome, no matter the content.

Thanks!

Thanks 8)

I'm afraid I can't take all the credit though, there is alot of Final fantasy fans on DA and they visit only because it's a moogle.

Big fan of the Final Fantasy series...moogles are suposed to be furry, but since it is a toy, you can take some creative license. One suggestion I have if you're going to animate it is that you simulate the bouncing pom-pom on its head, maybe by creating a working spring to connect it to the body.

Excellent work...just be careful with animating with ray-traced reflections.

Thanks, I have been messing around with fur alternatives for him, he's not going to be shiny if I make any animations with him. 8)

lol...probably a good idea...if you can find a way to render it, I'd suggest a DX9 shader, since they're very versatile and can produce a really nice fuzzy effect.

The wood looks nice because A) reflection mask maps B) bump maps C) HDRI reflections.

This is just plain awesome. It's definately getting a
What are you trying to make look more realistic about these.... they look real to me, or do you mean like real moogles instead of ceramic moogles?

Tannon In reply to Randelar [2004-09-04 03:08:51 +0000 UTC]

I was trying to make it seem realistic in the ceramic toy sense for this image, but I'm hoping that I can take it to the next level with this model and make it seem realistic in the real moogle sense. 8)

I like it. It looks very realistic, especially the HDRI reflections. And I don't know if there is noise or grain added but it sure increases realism.

Thanks 8)

Yes, there is some film grain effects, but mostly the grain is from the randomness in the skylight. The depth of field blurring effect also does tons for the added realism.
