I liked the watercolor portraits of Natalia Goncharova(Alexander Pushkin's wife) and I tried to draw fem!Russia in 19th century dress.
Russian fashion of the 19th century was largely borrowed from Europe, but often late. In the 1930s, after the Empire style, a traditional Russian dress was popular for some time.
Later the top of the dress was not so open, women again began to put on a lower skirt, in fashion included extended long sleeves. The upper part of the outfit still had to have a heart-shaped shape - for this a corset was worn under the dress, which was tightened as much as possible, and with a wide belt.
