Yet another one of my Skyrim characters.

Ismund was a son of the jarl of Falkreath, who lived 280 years ago. He grew up in luxury of the longhouse and was reading books about the nobility of other provinces, such as High Rock. This made him rather arrogant, yet he still was very smart and promising young man, who would have made a great jarl in the future. He was even studying magic and other sciences with the court wizard. Soon after he turned 19, however, his dreams of becoming a jarl were shattered. One day, Ismund woke up to find a pair of small red wounds on his neck. He didn't pay much attention to them, thinking that it were bite marks from some sort of an insect that flew into his room through the opened window. Soon, however, he felt sick and a strange thirst appeared, a thirst he couldn't get rid of. He wanted to drink a medical potion, but the supply was empty due to the recent outbreak of plague that ravaged the region. Days were passing and Ismund's condition was worsening. More over, there were now rumors of a vampire lurking in the town, as more people with strange bite marks were found. Only then did Ismund understand that he was bitten by a vampire and got infected. That day, a new supply of medical potions arrived and Ismund drank one, but it was already too late, for three days have already passed since the night he was bitten.

Ismund awoke in the night, overwhelmed by the terrible thirst. His vision was blurry and he felt like he was in a delirium, rather than fully awake. When his consciousness cleared, he saw blood on his hands and a guard lying on the floor in front of him with bite marks on his neck. Terrified, Ismund fled from the longhouse and from Falkreath. People soon began searching for him, for it was now obvious for them that he was a vampire, but they couldn't find the unfortunate son of the jarl. They did, however, find and slay the original vampire who infected Ismund.

Ismund was terrified by his transformation but he did realize the new powers and opportunities the disease provided him with. He was, after all, immortal now. But it was no point in those new powers if people were actively hunting for him, so he hid in a remote cave and fell into deep slumber, waiting until the day people forget about him and his vampirism. He awoke 280 years later, in the year 201 of the Fourth Era, and successfully infiltrated into modern society, seeking to acquire more power and wealth to return to the decadent lifestyle he was used to. In order to gain influence, Ismund decided to prove himself useful to the people of Skyrim and became an adventurer. Soon he arrived at the ruins of Helgen and, after the battle near the Whiterun's eastern watchtower, he discovered that he was in fact a dragonborn. Manners of nobility, dragon blood and magical knowledge will surely help Ismund to become more powerful and wealthy and to once again join the top echelons of Skyrim's high society.
