Description
This was done as a cover for a New York fanzine edited by Moshe Feder. As happened to a lot of things I did in my first incarnation in fandom, it wasn't used. I found another publisher a few years later. The scene shows a multi-dimensional commuter train whose passengers include characters I had invented. A couple are members of a make-believe fan club called the Outworlders, one is the XT I called Saara Mar (who I've been drawing longer than I've been in fandom), another XT named Tangel' (standing), and myself (asleep at the switch). The ads above, kipple on the floor, and things people are reading are in-jokes of one sort or another. In most cases, references to real fanzines or real people. It would be a little too much trouble to try to expain every one, so I'll just skip them all.
