Description Another sculpture! Made this one for a contest about Holocaust awareness.

Fiore was supposed to show the positive potential of utopian city planning; Nuremberg Denials is meant to show the negative. This piece depicts Albert Speer, Chief Architect of the Nazi Party from 1934 to 1942 and Minister of Armaments and War Production from 1942 to 1945. I sculpted Speer with the central building of Welthauptstadt Germania, his proposed redesign of Berlin that Hitler envisioned as the ultra-urban capital of the Greater Germanic Reich, hidden inside his coat. My intent is to criticize Speer's denial of loyalty to the Nazi Party at the Nuremberg Trials in 1945, despite his commitment to designing Welthauptstadt Germania and his devotion to Hitler preceding the Trials. My piece criticizes not only Speer's denials, but all Holocaust deniers' efforts to conceal the largest genocide in modern history. Evidence of the Holocaust should not be hidden behind the coats of old men; to stop genocides from recurring, we must first recognize that they happened.

Clay, oils, and paper. 12”W x 8”D x 28”H. 2015.

It's really impressive. May I ask, what kind of clay is it?

I took a class on the Holocaust my first semester, in which the main focus of the class was the vital significance of never forgetting what happened and how it happened. Your(amazing) sculpture is an excellent rendition of the message (and the facial expression is spot on magnificent, man!)

Dude that sounds like such an interesting class. I can't wait to get to college and start taking classes that are that focused.
Thank you!
