I recently got re-obsessed with the manga/film Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind. I you haven't seen it you must. It's sooo good... anyway, i was inspired and thought i would try to see how well i could render an ohmu insect. I tried to capture a kind of desolate landscape, the post-apocalyptic nuclear winter-type environment that the manga is set in, but it's also portrayed as being beautiful despite being deadly, and i wanted to convey that as well. It's just a rough, really. It doesn't have enough eyes, either.Related content

OMG, it's and Ohmu! The one part in the movie when Nausicaa tried to hide the Ohmu and they found out about it and took the Ohmu, it makes me sooo sad. Especially when she cries out "Don't kill it!" *sniffles* But I love the drawing, it's just sooo amazing. ^_^

Yeah actually i read up on that and i came across that horrible horrible travisty, i was... thoroughly appalled... no one messes with my Miyazaki stuff, i grew up on that and obsessed since i was 7 years old.... mwaahahhaah.....

Im liking the colours chosen alot.
You have put the certain tones into a very place along with the character charastics ie the eyes.
I havent seen Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind and im into alot of insperational manga films ie Akira,Spirited way and ghost in the shell,so i think ill check it out.4D.

I like a lot all Myasaky animes. And despite his old design (1984 I believe), Nausicaa remain very beautiful with this likeable caracters.
