This was a comission for a good friend of mine Dean Lorey. Dean's first novel "Nightmare Academy" will be published by Harper Collins and is coming out in september. The movie right have been sold to Universal and will be produced by Stephen Sommers(the mummy, the mummy returns) company.you should check out his website which has alot of my art on it, also pre-order the book it's a great read:

Love the palette. The layered dark and bright clouds convey the depth of the scene very well, and I love the idiosyncratic details of that structure. Wish I could go exploring there.

although......why the very drastic change from orange to dark-blue-gray?

I like the way you composed this image very much - my eyes were led from the figures gently up, and got lost in the detail silhouetted by the moon. Dreamy lighting, makes me want to read it.
