Description
This was an older oil painting I did for a book cover of the same name. I reworked this painting not to long ago and was able to sell it. I find myself always wanting to re-work my oils. Digital is so easy to work back into, hell you can have multiple versions if you want but oils not so easlily. I've learned a bit more about painting, atmosphere etc since this piece but its a classic Targete..warriors beautiful women and barbarians..and the ocasional bob cat?JP

with oils how long does a painting like this take?
i would guess it takes a looong time to finish..
to get all those armor details etc in with oil you have to be a master or atleast close to it..hehe (i would say master in this case)

Mannn I really think that you should continue working on yours tradicional Paints.
Neverrrr everrrr, a digital art will have the same POWER of the Original art.
I start to work on the wrong way,painting with photoshop, learning colors teory,and now I feel prepared to start to paint with real materials,like goauche,acrilicy,pencil colors.
I already finishing my first paint,and I already see me doing that for the rest of my life....Fuc.....digital art.
The reallll deal is Oringinal art,make dirt in your finger with the ink,,feel the paper.
Anyway,your work is such inspiration for me, so donttt stop...PLEASEEE,with the oil paint....hahaha.

Awsome... You just never stop amazing us.. How did you learn to paint like this? I paint with oil sometimes but I really really SUCK at painting. I could only wish that I knew your secret to doing such magnificent pieces. I especially admire your way of painting that gives me a feel of the scene, I can easilly determine metal from wood, stone, fur and those other stuff.. Wow! I just can't imagine how you do it.

I've been doing it for years panpiper, since 1987 if you do something as much as I painted it becomes second nature you know exactly what colors to use and exactly the results when you put it on the canvas. There are so many great painters around I also have learned from them.
