Description I was a recent GOH in a congregation, and was requested to illustrate images for specific attending members. I wanted to do something for the Con-chair, as he was incredibly supportive of my election as GOH, and made a personal effort to accommodate me any way he could.

"The Eagle Position" is a term used in many North West Pacific First Nations Bands to describe the head of the household, organization, or community congregation. With it, the title holds a large expected amount of responsibility in regards to the events taken place within the circle of the Eagle [that differs from the Raven Position].
Eagle is a symbol of power, friendship peace, and love. The responsibilities would include tending to the guests, caring for the people within the event, and bestowing gifts on the community members.

The Elk is known as "Good Father" or "Master of Ceremonies" in the Eastern Woodland cultures. An "Elk" would be expected to host the requested event, and make sure all things were running smoothly- even if it means sacrificing their time at the event by helping out in whichever way needed- even remedial tasks.
"Elk" will take care of other small issues that would arise in the community event- from match making, to mediation.

I wanted to pay my respects to the Eagle Position for the event held, and my invitation to attend. I designed this peace as a special request, and made it with the intention to honor the Elk.

The artist does NOT allow any reproduction in part or in whole of this piece. Also, the artist does not give permission to third parties to take the design and use it for any purpose what so ever.

Very impressive.  Beautifully done, and the story behind it just serves to emphasize how special this is, and subsequently how much it seems to have meant to you.  It is always great when you can instill art with meaning like that.  Spectacular work.  ^v^

Thank you! I don't' lie doing art for art's sake.. it ALWAYS has to have SOME meaning, if not introspection to it. I admit, these kinds of pieces are especially important to me, as they are both Culturally Observing, as well as personally fulfilling as my role within the community dictates it. Never the less, the dictation doesn't decree why I do it, more so that it's part of my behavioral make-up that I have come to appreciate and love.

A sign you have a great drive and a real passion for what you do.  It seems that the real enjoyment in making art is not just in the pleasure of making it, but in making it meaningful, and finding the right context to express them in.  Definitely something to treat our minds to as well as our eyes.  ^v^

Oooh, wow! I love the beauty and symbolism behind these animals. It really does sound awesome to do pieces for organizations. But I'm curious, what does GOH stand for?
