Description So my boyfriend got a 3d printer! So of course I have to brave my fear of 3d and make a little grumpy dragon. First time sculpting on blender! There was something wrong with the inside of the wings so I cut them off for the print. Then the tip of its tail snapped off while I was sanding it :c

Lots to learn but I liked 3d sculpting more than I thought I would. And its so cool to just have this go from concept to digital sculpt to physical object all from my own living room! Will definitely be making more!

Looks like the wings were too thin for the model size. Looks good otherwise.

It was a problem with the 3d sculpt itself. There was this extra wall in the wing I had missed that was causing problems. So I just cut the whole thing out for the print. I'll attempt wings again once I have a bit more experience with 3d sculpting and printing though!

OMG I've always wanted to see something go from 3d models to, well, 3D! Complications aside it's both adorable as heck and AMAZING!!! We can just pretend that he has some birth defects or something! XD

Thank you! I think its nicer to hold without the wings? So it might have turned out for the best. I'll try to tackle wings again when I have a bit more experience though. I'm printing a slightly bigger one with supports on the tail so it doesn't snap off again ><

Awesome! Can't wait to see how the little precious turns out! You might also consider giving him a kind of dorsal fin along the top of his tail, nothing fancy, but just something to give it support! Just an idea! Either way, I can't wait! :3

I'm thinking of painting the new one but I'll probably move onto another project after this though
