amm... i used "brush" for painting ...sometime change effect brush for more texture.
it's about personal technique, I just painting shade and light and switch to Photoshop for retouch&texture.
you can make your own technique too, just try new technique ..maybe from other tutorial ..if it's not work just try new one or get some teacher^^
