This painting is really incredible. The face looks so realistic as if it was a photography and apart from it a very good shot. All in the face has so much love for detail. The eyes are so lively. They even have a sparkling glance in the pupils. I wonder what kind of shading you have applied to reach that effect. It is magic!

This also applies to the mouth of the man and the wrinkles in his face. They are so fine and detailed and the one tooth in the Indian's mouth looks a bit creepy. I love the brow colouration: It is if he has the sun on his head or in his mind. I do not know much of Indian symbolism, but that red and white added, gives it a powerful and mighty touch. The hair and the beard are a bit strange and look like (electric) wires, especially the beard - like something 3D.

The painting is a masterpiece. It seems that he is watching directly the beholder. Keep up that good work!

Thank you for such a lengthy critique. It's a portrait of an Indian sadhu (monk). They use different types of colours to decorate their faces. In this case, the yellow comes from turmeric powder, the red from vermilion powder and the white from a white powder similar to chalk dust. Yes, the colours symbolises different philosophical thoughts that are embedded in the Indian mysticism.
