In the parking lot of his apartment complex, Damien sits in his car in silence. The radio is on, but the volume is down. He taps a nervous finger on his steering wheel.

Another car pulls into the spot next to him. The door opens and out steps Toni. Damien exits his car and walks around to the passenger side to open the door for her. Toni is wearing a navy blue sweater dress and open toe heels. Damien, a black blazer over a black turtleneck.

Toni: You look good.

Damien: You look fantastic.

Toni: I try...

Toni begins adjusting the collar on Damien's blazer.

Damien: So, what did Lavon say?

Toni: ( Still adjusting) 'bout What?

Damien: He does know you're going out tonight, right?

Toni: Well, yeah. ( Looks sternly at Damien) Damien... we're not cheating or anything. This is just a night out with a friend. It's harmless.

Damien: Yeah, harmless. That's why I couldn't pick you up from home. Does he know that this 'friend' is a guy?

Toni Raises an eyebrow.

Toni: Does he need to?

Damien: Well, you and me...

Toni: Damien. (Sigh) "You and I" are friends. We can handle a harmless evening out with each other. (Laughs) It's not like this is... you know, a date or anything.

Damien: (Laughs) Oh, no! Totally not!

Toni: Definitely not.

Damien: Absolutely.

Toni: (Looks down, then up again) O.k. So let's do it.

Damien: Right... Lets do it.
