Oh my gosh, that is such a good sketch drawing you did! Hiccup is just so skeptic on trying to train a Skeksis, it can't be that hard... right?
Also, I just started work on the 'The Dark Crystal: Dragon Riders of Thra' and it's on fanfiction.net, which you can check out here:Β www.fanfiction.net/s/13527815/β¦
Very good sketch, and thanks for mentioning me!

Thank you, and I felt it was right to acknowledge the inspiration for this drawing.
I have read the chapter at that link. I hope you don't mind if I try doing a drawing from that.

Of course I donβt mind! And be sure to let your friends know about my story too, along with other fanfics I have been working on, such as Star Toons (a crossover/spoof of the Star Wars franchise but with our fav various cartoon characters), When Dimensions Unite (a fanfic that is inspired by the Lego Dimensions game), Sonic Lanterns (a Story series Iβ,m working on, being a crossover of Sonic and the Green Lantern series) and others!

I like How to train your dragon movies, but I hated Hiccup's name. They could have come up with something better. But the boy and Astrid remind me of Jen and Kira. I wish Chamberlain could have been part of their team. And I am writing a story called Allegiance where I make it that way. Jen, Kira, and Sil have some adventures together.Β

I haven't seen Age Of Resistance yet, so all I know about it are the bits I've come across on line. I intend to see it, so I've been trying to avoid major spoilers. Going by what I know about the Chamberlain from the movie, he has an evil streak but he seemed to me to be driven more by the opportunistic part of his nature. I can see him, given the right opportunity, changing for the good thing when he sees it. I had that happen with a different character in one of my fan-fics (Dark Forces). Grimmel from HTTYD The Hidden World. I expected him to remain in that character when I brought him into my Prime Team realm, but as I was writing it, I realized that he could not remain the cold evil one after interacting with the main elements of the Prime Team stories. I say go for it with your story. It could be fun.
As to Hiccup's name. That came from Cressida Cowell's books, and as revealed in book 9 (How To Steal A Dragon's Sword), the reason he had that name played a big part in the overall course of the book series. I saw the first and second movies (and loved them) before I got around to reading the books, but I've come to love the books more than I love the Dreamworks Dragon franchise. Don't get me wrong, the movies are number 2 right behind the books (with COCO being the next thing in line).

In my opinion, they are worth reading. Yes, they do, especially the first few books, have upper grade school and middle school humor like fart jokes, but they do have things for older readers to latch onto. And, the level of the humor matures as the series goes on. While the first seven books may seem at first look to be stand alone stories, they do all end up being tied together by the events and decisions made within each story which sets the stage for the wonderful resolution of the overall series. Some things are starting to fall in place by the end of the seventh book though the reader is likely not aware of this on the first reading of the series. Book eight, How To Break A Dragon's Heart, starts off seeming like just another stand alone adventure, but a decision Hiccup makes - for all the right reasons - ends up setting the stage for the conflict that drives the last third of the series. Book nine, How To Steal A Dragon's Sword, is my favorite in the series. In my opinion, Hiccup's choices and actions during the major crisis in that story proves that he is worthy of being where he is at the end of the series. Books ten through twelve are just as strong, but I ended up really falling in love with the ninth book.
As proof of what I said above about older readers, I was fifty nine years old when I decided to give the books a try. I picked up a copy of the first book in mid December of 2017. By mid February of 2018, I had read all twelve books. I'd recommend the series to anyone who is interested in adventure that touches on social issues.
By the way, I have started reading your Allegiance story. I'm still early in the story, but I see an interesting variation on the events of the movie.
