Why is the Spider-Man from the worst cartoon ever your favorite incarnation?

I realize that you're trying to make people aware of something and that's great, really. I realize that Ultimate Spiderman wasn't the best Spiderman animated series on the market, but it certainly was not "the worst cartoon ever". It was actually...pretty good. I'm not gonna give it an award or anything, I'm not gonna say it was the best incarnation of Spiderman or even the best Spiderman show (because it certainly wasn't, and I'm okay with accepting that). It's also definitely not the best cartoon out there, but it's not a horrible cartoon. It's cute, it's funny, it can be very stupid but in an enjoyable kind of way, and it can also occasionally be kind of heartwarming. Yes, for Spiderman fans especially, I can see how it would be aggravating and even upsetting or too stupid for words to some people. But to others, it was really fun to watch. Was it a great show? No, probably not. But it made some people happy, it made people laugh, it gave people a reason to learn just a little bit more about Spiderman, look for better incarnations of him. And it's not as if the Peter Parker/Spiderman in Ultimate Spiderman was an unlikable or not relatable guy, he was generally likable and at least a little bit relatable. So please, be considerate of someone else's opinion, even if you don't like that show because of what it did to Spiderman or because you just think it's terrible. I don't mind that, you're allowed to think whatever you want and I can't say I'd entirely disagree with every critic out there, because I wouldn't, but don't let that ruin someone else's fun. Sometimes there's more than what meets the eye and sometimes that's truer for others than it is for you.
Excuse me if I assumed something, I just didn't like how you set up that question. It seemed very prodding and a little bit bitter. I'm sorry to have bothered. Thank you for reading. Have a good day.

I cannot understand why people thinks turning Spider-Man into an eternal rookie in the name of "relatability", or whatever you wish to call it.

Well, as much as I disagree with this statement you have just made, I'll humor you. In reality people never stop learning. Do you ever stop learning? No. There never comes a time where a person knows everything about something they do or anything else, despite whether or not they know a lot. And a lot of people learn over an extended period of time, it isn't just instant. No one's going to be a master of their profession in a year's time or even two years time, that's just insane. If you are, you are in the minority. Spiderman is also a kid in a lot of forms of media, which makes it even more difficult for him. It's relatable, it's interesting to see a character start out and work his butt off to get going. Every once in a while it's interesting and refreshing to see a main character who isn't better than everyone else, who is still learning, and it's even better when they know and accept it's going to take them a while. It's something everyone can relate to. So, if your question was about why it's relatable, there you go.
Ultimate Spiderman was a kids show, it was not meant to have serious plots, they were supposed to be more kid-friendly plots that introduced kids to Spiderman. A Spiderman that was funny, that they could relate to, and that would open their minds up to the world of this arachnid superhero. I have already admitted to you that yes, it could have been better. I'm not afraid of admitting that. I freely accept that as a fact of life. All I simply wished was that you would understand that although it certainly was not your cup of tea, whether you understand why or not, other people really loved that show. And it certainly was not the worst cartoon show...it was pretty spectacular. I wouldn't have cared about figuring out more about Spiderman had I never seen it, personally. Whether you like it or not, the show existed, it has not ruined Spiderman. Spiderman is still very much alive and going strong. So, why bother letting this little thing upset you so much? Can you not at least accept that it existed and appreciate that it introduced children and even maybe some adults to Spiderman, encouraging them to look deeper? Must you ruin someone's childhood simply because you selfishly choose to inform everyone of your own personal opinion in the rudest way possible? Could you not respect that we have differing opinions and that that's actually okay?
Please be more considerate and do not come here looking to trigger people. You cannot tell me that you did not want a fight, because that's the only reason you would have been as rude to my friend and I as you have. For some reason, you really want to argue with us, you really want to be right. Well guess what? I don't care. I have told you repeatedly that I agree that it was not the best show, nor the best Spiderman show, nor even the best kids show. I have neither completely disagreed with you nor completely agreed with you. I don't know why you wish to argue about this...I don't know why you wish to put people down about it. Surly there is something much more incredible for Spiderman you could be doing right now, rather than hopelessly arguing with people over the internet about an okay kids show that's only crime is existing and not depicting the most accurate version of Spiderman. I am grateful to you for reading what I have written and I thank you again, if you have done it once again. But I would respectfully request that you move your business elsewhere. Thank you.
And yes, have a very a nice day.

I might agree with you, but I'm not just going to ignore or throw out the other versions of Spiderman just because I happen to enjoy a specific incarnation more than another. My favorite version of Peter Parker's Spiderman for the longest time was Tobey McGuire's Spiderman. Now...I don't really have a favorite, I kind of like most of them, now that I know more about Spiderman. That was the first media I had ever seen for Spiderman and I only saw half of it. While watching Ultimate Spiderman I was reminded of it and went back to watch it and the other two films, wasn't a fan of the last one. But there are things about Ultimate Spiderman I admired, for instance the cast of characters they used, it was nice to see them consider a lot of beloved characters from the comics that people adored, especially in the alt Spideys, like Mile Morales. I own the original comic book origin story of Miles Morales. I came into possession of Gwen Stacy's origin story much later, which...I'm not as fond of, it's a little bit dark and angsty for my taste. I also liked the inclusion of Spider Noir.
I also own a more kid friendly comic book series in which Peter Parker, Miles Morales, and Gwen Stacy are all Spider-people that exist within the same universe, they don't work for Tony Stark, but they are trying to meet him so they can ask questions, maybe get some advice, because Tony Stark is the only superhero that they know is a superhero. It's actually very interesting and entertaining, a little bit cheesy, but self-aware...I think Peter Parker is very well depicted as a kid in this universe who has the most experience as Spiderman but still subject to being selfish and not always coming out on top despite everyone knowing he is the better Spiderman. Gwen Stacy's also pretty well depicted, she's very feisty and once she's focused on something, she stays focused. I'll always be more partial to the version of Miles Morales from Spiderverse, but even that version was pretty darn close to the version from the comics, but with a few very important and understandable changes in character and character design and a little bit of the backstory (obviously), but the Miles Morales from the comic is pretty good, kind of the rookie, not afraid of it.
I've seen multiple Spiderman cartoons and I probably couldn't tell you what was my favorite if I tried, I did like Spectacular Spiderman, but I don't remember it as well as I would like and I don't really know exactly where to access it and I'm not sure I want to spend my time trying, but it was good. I do very fondly remember that theme though. It makes sense to me that kids would look for someone to guide them through something so difficult in their lives, so I have absolutely no problem with the Tony Stark thing from this comic series, especially since I know that because they are they're own thing it's not going to transpire into something more with Tony, and I love the Tony Stark from this comic series (what little I've seen of him). The thing I just hated about Ultimate Spiderman was S.H.E.I.L.D.'s whole involvement, I really did not like that...it felt so out of place and sort of random to me. I know what S.H.E.I.L.D. is and why it's there, but...it's always been difficult to accept it employing certain heroes, despite whether or not it makes sense. When I was way too young to understand anything I was seeing, I watched Spiderman 1994, which I really liked, despite having absolutely no idea what was going on at the time. By the time I'd watched Ultimate Spiderman, Spiderman: The New Animated Series (which the ending will forever frustrate me), and Spiderman the movie, I finally figured it out, which made the show even more spectacular to me.
Point being, I love Spiderman in many shapes and forms. He is one of my very favorite heroes and will always be. He is inspiring and will always be one of the incredible heroes responsible for introducing me to the world of superheroes. You don't have to agree with me, but surely, you can agree with that.
Have a nice day.

Thank you. I'm not too upset, but I'd advise allowing yourself to be more considerate. Also, make sure you know the full story before you make assumptions, it can get you into more trouble than you meant to if you don't. Some things are just not worth getting upset about or fighting over, they might be fun to talk about, but not so much to debate, especially in a non-friendly or self-defensive kind of way. Best wishes.

I happen to suffer from anxiety and depression. That show got me through some very tough times and put a smile on my face. That's why I love him. You don't have to like him but I would appreciate it if you didn't go looking for fights on a post I made years ago. I can think of cartoons FAR worse than this one that I'm sure you may not have even heard of. Please respect that this Spider-man helped me through very tough times in my life.

Alright... This was not appreciated... AT ALL! You have no right to go making sarcastic comments on a VERY serious matter. I used to be suicidal. I used to long to be dead. I used to love death. I used to be afraid of upsetting everyone and everything and Ultimate Spider-man introduced me to a safer version of superheroes so I could actually enjoy them without having panic attacks and relate to someone who messes up just as much as I do. That was Stan Lee's original intent for Spider-man, btw. Yeah, he's cool but that wasn't his intent, his intent was to make Spider-man an average guy who was thrown into heroing by accident and has to balance that with normal human life. Peter Paker was made to look average and act average ON PURPOSE. He was made constantly making quips and asking for help because he is ONLY human. I'm sorry that not everyone could enjoy spectacular spider-man like you did. That was a beautiful show but I couldn't sit through it without getting completely anxious at the time. Ultimate Spider-man helped me enjoy superheroes so I could get into cooler, more awesome superhero content. He helped me accept myself.
And you, you just come here and insult me for enjoying something that HELPED me get past my dark times. If you came here to try and tell me how much better every other incarnation of Spider-man is you, unfortunately, lost your chance. You just made fun of a very serious problem I had (and still have some), TONS of kids have/had, simply because you don't like one version of Spider-man... Do you have any idea how distasteful your comment to me just now was? You probably don't other wise you probably wouldn't have made it unless my suspicions are correct and you really are looking for a fight.
I am not here to argue with you if Ultimate Spider-man is good or not. I'm not here to tell you your opinion is wrong. I couldn't care less if you liked him or not. I really couldn't care less. I will enjoy my childhood and the heroes who got me through it, you enjoy yours. However, I WILL NOT stand for this blatant disrespect against serious problems that nearly led me to making awful decisions simply because "Kid Hero version of Deadpool" sucks. Also, I never said he was my favorite. As I mentioned in MY EARLIER COMMENT this post was made YEARS ago. Actually my favorite is Miles Morales specifically of the Spiderverse movie. However, Ultimate Spider-man I shall forever treasure.
So, thank you sir for this ever so "delightful" comment but if you try to go telling me "aw you poor thing, having to be so desperate that you liked this junk" again I will be forced to block you. I was desperate. I needed to watch that in order to help me be who I am today. I asked for respect but clearly you refuse to offer any to me. I'm sorry Ultimate Spider-man is such a sore spot for you, you have to come here and disrespect mental illnesses just to prove me wrong, I guess? Do me a favor, in the future, never do that again because no one is going to want to listen to you if your going to be this disrespectful and rude.
Good day.

The humor in that series was not a good countermeasure to balance out the angst in the series.

*sighs* Look, yeah, the show sucked at balancing things out. Some episodes were too angsty, others too humorous. I don't care, it helped me, alright.
That isn't even the point. Sir, I'm not sure you get it. You just made fun of mental illnesses and all you still want to freaking talk about is Ultimate Spider-man sucks. What do you have to gain? Yeah, the show sucked, alright? You happy? Like it wasn't the best show ever. I have seen worse but I have also seen better. What matters is it made me happy. That I have a little memory to cherish as a child.
Why are you so bent on arguing with me when there is no ground to stand on? I admit the show wasn't the best but sometimes people like things you don't. Get over it. Move on. You've made your point, Ultimate Spider-man is an awful show, now please leave me alone if you wish to continue to treat me so rudely and argue over nothing. There's nothing to talk about. The show wasn't good but I still liked it and sometimes you can't help but like things that aren't always good. Plus, it did have its good moments, as anything does.
I honestly barely remember that show being angsty anyway. It had very few dark sad episodes. Most of it was fun and a joke. I personally think you just need to watch it again and throw your bias aside and enjoy it as a show, not as an accurate representation of Spider-man.
In reality, it was one of the best representations of Spider-man. Most every other version was too dark. That wasn't what Spider-man represented. Yeah, he wanted to give up sometimes but he always came back. As Spiderverse best put it, he always got back up. He was never afraid to admit when someone was better than him. He was always afraid to step up to a challenge but he did it anyway because that's what heroes do. He shared the spotlight, didn't keep it to himself. Stan Lee made him to be an underdog kind of character. Someone who was never meant to be the best superhero or the strongest or the smartest. He was meant to be a normal guy having to deal with life's challenges and this odd curve ball thrown at him. A guy who had to be knocked down to get back up. And sometimes he had to keep learning that over and over and over again because people always lack faith in themselves but he never truly gave up. He always had a joke to put on smile on your face, a plan for the day even when it was derailed, and an ability to admit when he was wrong. That's Spider-man.
Spider-man isn't about balance, or awesomeness. He's a normal person just like everyone else and that's the point of his character. To be relatable. To be flawed.
He's not meant to be gosh darn perfect and I respected that and truth be told, Spiderverse gave me an even better appreciation for Ultimate Spiderman because, while the show sucked, he was the Spider-man who kept me going. My hero.
You have your hero, I have mine. Respect that and move on. There's no need to argue what spider-man is better because that doesn't matter. They aren't supposed to be "perfect" or "better" they are supposed to be people.
And I would appreciate it if you would act like Spider-man instead of the frankly rude person you are right now. You didn't even acknowledge anything I said. For someone who loves Spider-man so much you sure don't know how to act like him.
So, I'll say this one more time. You don't need to apologize just leave me alone and stop grasping at straws for some kind of fight. If you continue I WILL block you.
Good day.
