Description
This is the 2nd drawing done as a birthday gift for my friend. It's a month overdue, but what the heck... you can't rush art.
Tools: 2B, 4B, tissue for blending

i just showed this to my husband and he asked me how it was made so i showed him the comments section and he said "i don't believe someone did this with a pencil"

the skin texture is sooo good..
can u give me some ideas how u did it??

I use a tissue to blend the skin area to give it a nice and smooth look.
The paper is 11x17 recycled copy paper from Office Depot.
The quality of the paper is okay, it's just pretty bright.

I'm not a huge fan of Jessica Alba, but this drawing is just so fantastic. If I could do something like this freehand, it would be my ideal style.

Thanks. Well, freehand is very tough to master. I always use a grid system for my drawings, but if you keep practicing you'll eventually get there!

The face is a bit off but the attention to detail elsewhere is amazing. the folds in the clothing and the hands/finger nails are very impressive. The bracelet is insane and this is also some of the best blending ive seen.

Yea, I noticed that too about the face. At first I thought it was the mouth, so I redrew it... but it still looked kinda weird. So I just left it like that because the more I erased, the worse the paper got.

The thing that really caught my eye with this picture was how realistic you made the figure look. Ha, something I wish I could achieve in my rather pathetic traditional works (then again I usually don't do traditional art as much as I should). I love how you captured everything right from the skin down to her fingernails to her shiny, chromatic rings. And my gosh, those charms on her bracelet...just wow!
That line go goes through her right forearm looks rather weird, as in it looks either like an erasure mistake in the surrounding area or the image you were looking at was photoshopped in such a strange fashion. Her lips look a little blurry, and her hair looks a tiny bit dry as well as seemingly "lasso-tooled and cutout from a background" to say the least.
Either way, really fantastic. I wish I could go this far with traditional tools.

Yea, I didn't really like how the hair and lips came out either... I believe the picture that I used as reference had her hair photoshopped weird.
And about that line through the forearm, it's suppose to look like a reflection of her upper arm because it's wet and shiny...

Oh and when I mentioned photoshopped, I was referring to a photoshopped magazine making their models look too shiny, thus the lines/base shades adjacent to the highlights.

I once saw her and a little boy wanted her autograph, she looked at him up and down and said "I dont do that" and he was very sad she said that. I gave her a mean look and walked away.
