well first you should come up with a concept they relate to.
for example, pokemon is pocket monsters.
pocket monsters because they are stored in balls that are small enough to transport easily.
hence pocket sized.

You probably know all that already, but just to give an example.

How about something to do with deserts or traveling? Or their general nature?
