Description Useless camera is useless

Anyways... Another pipecleaner dragon. They are so fun to make^^ And I have sort of an art block right now, I just wanted to do something easy that I knew how to do.

I know the colours are weird It was my weak attempt at doing something different...

100% pipecleaners according to my own design, absolutely no glue/sewing thread/markers/instructions/whatever. About four or five hours of work, I think (I didn't pay attention to that...)

EDIT: Oh, and it's about 45cm (~17,5 inches) from horns to the tip of the tail.^^

i think i like the tail on him the best, both how it flows out and how it's transitioned perfectly from the tightly-woven body

WOW! truly amazing. i do dragon pipecleaner art too. but they are not as well done as yours. im trying to figure how i can string them together more tightly. any suggestions?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

teblad In reply to Killerlover101 [2010-04-02 23:20:37 +0000 UTC]

Hmm... Well, pipecleaners won't break easily, so just try to use some violence on them to string them together tight. I usually treat them the same as I would treat, say, string or yarn. It's hard to explain. I think you just need to practise and get a feel for the material.

Sorry for the lame advice. Good luck with your pipecleaner art, and thanks for the comment!

When I saw the thumbnail, I was wondering what it was made of. Then I read your note about it being pipe cleaner! I would have never guessed that pipe cleaners could make something as awesome as this!

I really love the color combo and the fact that it looks simple, yet has such good detail. I also love the daintiness of it too.

Beautiful work!

I wonder, do you consider glue and sewing to be some sort of violation of the secret pipecleaner art code?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

teblad In reply to TrollGirl [2009-03-01 17:43:00 +0000 UTC]

Haha Not really, I just like to be able to say "100% pipecleaners". Also, I mention this in my deviations because at first sight, many people think I use glue or sewing thread to hold the pipecleaners together.

how do you get the pipecleaners to spiral like that? (love the colors)

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

teblad In reply to ThePhantomDragon [2008-10-28 14:14:19 +0000 UTC]

thank you!

well, i shape the body as i build it. if i shape it correctly while i'm weaving the pipecleaners, the body will stay in that position.
