Description November 9th aurora. This is right from my deck in my rather heavily light-polluted area. The four orange lights in the lower right are garage lights, but the seemingly-related green stripes above them are actual aurora, not lens reflections!

Thanks! There's absolutly nothing like it. The trick is to catch it when it's happening, and not just seeing the photo in the paper the day AFTER!

You can sign up to receive emails when there is something happening, which is how I learned of this one. It only lasted about 45 minutes, so you can't delay!

You need a tripod--15 to 30 second exposures are typical.
