How did I not see this?
Ugh. This is my favorite book, no doubt. And one of my favorite characters from it. I love you for this ;A;

if i tell you youll think its stupid
but its truly brillant
its mainly a story about growing up, living through extreme harships, and trying to keep humanity and hope instilled in even the most ditraught of people.
Its just written in a way that completely pulls you in
you literally feel like youve met and shared the moments with the characters
its astounding
the book starts out with 10 year old Liesel moving in with a foster family because her mother couldnt afford to keep herand her brother who ended up dying on the train to Molching.
*takes place 1939-1942 Nazi Germany*
and she feels utterly lost when she goes to school and is put with the small children just learning to read and write because shes so far behind.
She also has nightmares every night of her brother dying so her Foster Dad reads her 'the grave diggers handbook' *a book she picked up at her brothers funeral*
teachiing her how to read
and then the plot picks up and i wont spoil the rest :]

But the most stupid-sounding books are usually the best ones. And the most interesting.
Sounds awesome! And where can I find this book, perhaps?
