Both my friend and I are very dissatisfied with the rendition of the MJOLNIR Mk.V that was just introduced into Halo 5's multiplayer. The classic Mk.V is my personal favorite rendition of the MJOLNIR armor, so that bizarrely off version of it saddened me quite a bit. We wanted to demonstrate that it was possible to do justice to the Mk.V in 343's own style, so that's what I tried to do here (tracing over the official asset render to ensure that the shape and detail of the underlying bodysuit matches up 1:1).

I think I've already complimented you on this design but I'll say it again, it's miles better than 99% of the armors you can unlock in Halo 5. 343 could learn a thing or two (or maybe 15) from this design, it's an absolute perfect blend of the classic MJOLNIR armor and 343's undersuit.

I dont have halo 5 but i heard nto many people like the armors from both halo 4 and 5 since they say the designs can be rather weird looking and impractical compaired from halo 1-3 and halo reach

Halo 5's depiction feels off IMO because of the straight-edged visor and the sharp difference between the thin bodysuit and thick armour, makes it feel like a skinny guy trying to look bulk.

Yeah I was pretty livid that the Mark V Alpha was a pathetic redesign of the armor that Master Chief wore in the first Halo game, and the helmet of Caboose was poorly redesigned.
This is is a better than 343 has done.

Absolutely gorgeous. I'm still a bigger fan of the Reach Mk. V, but this looks really really good.
Oh, and that official h5 asset. Jesus....343 never ceases to amaze me on how bad they can get with the armor redux's.

Nice! Its good to know I'm not the only one out there who thinks Mark V was the best. It was the only armor that looked chunky enough to withstand plasma fire and hold a battery big enough to power the shield. That and it just looked awesome.
I think the helmet in the Halo 3 multiplayer is only update to the Mark V design that looks any good.
And that Halo 5 one? Yikes! I might be able to excuse the sleeker armor as a result of design and it having to fit within hit boxes and such. But there is no excuse for that helmet

Outstanding work. I love the design of the Mark V Anniversary armor, and you've certainly done it justice here. Now if it only they would put this in Halo 5... the Mark V Alpha doesn't really cut it.

Ah, this looks so much better. As a personal fan of the Mark V I completely understand the frustration. Though.. I still wish they used the Halo CE Anniversary helmet, it was the best of all the renders of the Mark V, or at least the Halo 4 render. The Mark V helmet in Halo 5 just seems too...bulky and short? I mean it's not as long and seems wider and thicker in parts that shouldn't and the visor is much smaller. I would imagine when they say Mark V Alpha that maybe it's not it's official version?
But really, this is so much nicer looking I love how it looks in your illustration. it's all I could have ever wanted it to look!

And I too favor the classic chassis the Spartan's wore from the first 3 games, it looked a lot more sturdy while still providing plently of flexibility and movability, there wasn't much that impeded the Spartan's overall motor functions in those old guises, why turn them into even less covering versions? There's a reason there's so much hefty plating all over them since their energy shields aren't infinite, taking away more chunks of the armor only leaves the soldier expsed to more fire once their shields are knocked cold :s

This is an absolutely incredible rendition. It's not particularly super true to the CE design proportion wise, but it looks fantastic either way, and is easily one of the best revisions of the original suit, especially since you changed so little of the armor design.
The best thing about this is that it looks like the master chief. Too often I see renditions that just look silly or obviously too fan-made, but this could easily be official. You even made sure the suit has the "fat" look to it, the appearance that it's a genuine spacesuit and not just a latex undersuit or something.

The proportional differences are a result of me designing this on top of 343's bodysuit. The big idea was to demonstrate that the design can be done right, even if you play by 343's rules. If I were doing solely my own personal rendition of the Mk.V, then the over-all proportions would be a bit more true to the original, and I'd be working up a unique bodysuit for it as well.
