Not yet, no. Β It's still on the long list of projects that I need to get finished.

The meaning is precisely the same, and you very well know that.
(Good lord, I just can't help but feed the trolls. I must hate myself or something.)

That's some excellent plasticard work, there.

Design looks good. Although the lack of the regular grip made me think for a moment there of a really big Uzi.

Heh, nah. That's just because the grips are molded into the hands of the Marines.

if you cast it, you should add a grip, like they did on the marine sprues, so you can use them slung or racked, if you want.
It's a brilliant design, recognisably a Bolter but with it's own style, independent of the Godwyn & Heresy patterns. Only criticism is it seems slightly front heavy to me, extending or raising the back end a bit would improve it, IMHO.

Turns out that both of your suggestions were related. I added a grip, and suddenly the whole weapon looked a lot more balanced. I also shaved down the ironsight just a smidge for good measure.

I may add a grip, though that would add considerable complication to the molding and casting process.
As for the front-heavyness, I think it has to do with how high up the forward ironsight juts, so I may shave that down a bit.

...wow. so you made your own resin model. was there a set of instructions you followed?

I haven't cast it yet. What you're seeing here is the master copy, which I've assembled from polystyrene sheets and rods. I'll probably give it a day or so to just sit and make sure that the plastic cement has fully cured. I'll likely see about setting it up for mold-making then, and after that it'll be at least a few days before I can start pouring resin.
As to your second question, I didn't follow any guides or anything, I typically sculpt and fabricate parts based on my own discretion.

that's still pretty good. this inspires me to try and make my own stuff.
