just a question, what is it about the show, that has made it popular among adults? the colouring and design seem to aim younger audiences.

I believe that the voice work, music, and animation quality is what brought in the bigger audience, and since then the show has pandered to that demographic.

I remember I was once going on and on about how adults watch cartoons designed for babies. we were having tea while watching a movie, in which the main character disemboweled his foe, and used his intestines to rappel down a building. my mother said with a disgusted expression: "now do you realize why adults watch cartoons?"!

Yes, movies have gotten quite vulgar. Sometimes we need to look at the happier side of TV and media to help cheer us up, and the My Little Pony show and shows like it are a great way to accomplish that.

Pink party horse is also very photogenic and is not afraid to get her pictures taken with with everypony...even a statue or a robot of her counts (robots because she can't go to every single party at once...plus I'm a huge sci-fi nut.)
