Aww, she looks adorably sparky and happy (and freakishly like someone I know). Her pose is great because it looks like she's flying forwards into the future^^

That is lovely! And a wonderful gift! I couldn't think of anything more special and it really shows that you put some time into a gift.
If it was me, I would keep it in my wallet or something. Too cute.

I sometimes feel like that, for instance, my boyfriend buys my nice expensive gifts, and then a turn around and make him a really nice scrapbook, and even though it wasn't cheap by any means, I sometimes feel that it isn't the best thing that I could get him. Never the less, he always loves them very much, sooooo I keep making him things. hahahaha. I know where your coming from. I love making handmade things because it shows that I put enough effort and creativity then just going out and buying something.. but sometimes I feel that people would rather have something bought for them. :/

Oh, I totally sympathize! I LOVE making gifts for people, and I know I'm putting in a lot of time and effort for something that quite often looks very good (well, if I'm giving it as a gift, it better look good, right? XD), but it's so hard to reconcile giving it to a non-artist, because for some reason I have this impression that people who don't make art themselves think of it as being something we just DO reflexively without much thought, or that we do as work; even though nobody has EVER given me this impression before, I worry that my giving someone artwork will come off like somebody giving, like, office paperwork as a gift.
SOMEDAY WE'LL GET OVER THAT WEIRDNESS.

Hahahah! Exactly! That is precisely what it is. Non-artist just think we pull this stuff out of our butts, and that our time and effort and our ability to take that person and make something that relates to them, or reminds us of them, or they were the inspiration, just doesn't even exist in their minds.
Silly people!
I mean. I don't think I've ever really been given that impression, and I guess I am really lucky, because my boyfriend is an artist, so I feel he appreciates every single little thing because he knows what I got through to actually create it.
Why do we do these things to ourselves! Hahahah. Yes. Hopefully someday handmade things will be all the rage.
