Now back to your regularly scheduled pretty landscapes.
This was done partly with ref, partly without. (there were houses on the land and no clouds in the reference for example) I'm not sure how long this took, but I started it last night when I was wishing to be somewhere more warm than Canada.

I have, but unfortunately there is so much to cover and demonstrate that it would almost be better to do a broadcast over Ustream or something instead. xD If I did a tutorial I'd have to divide up into simple chunks, like layering, clouds, lighting etc.

We just got some snow here recently and it's feeling like it's winter again. So cold!

How far up in Canada are you? The snow we got melted as soon as it hit the ground, so it was like rain. Washington has a crapton of rain most of the time, so snow that sticks is rare.
