It wasn't that Miracle wasn't cut out to be the daughter of a blue blooded aristocrat. It's not that she wasn't graceful enough or didn't have the best education money could buy. It's just that she didn't feel part of royalty. She wanted to be a common pony, have fun like a common pony and against her parents best efforts, to fall in love like a common pony.

She didn't want part of the snooty, stuffy, self importance of the social hierarchy. She watched the middle class ponies able running through the street playing stick ball and eating candy apples. She watched while, on a hot day, they could splash in the fountains and live without care of judgement.

That is the life she wanted, that is the freedom she pined for.

But, until she was old enough, she had to conform and it broke her little heart.

This is Miracle, the reluctant royal. Not of the alicorns lineage but of the far northern clan that lived in the snow bound hinterlands. One day she would escape, to live and love, to smile and laught, to pay the ultimate sacrifice that only a child baring mother can pay.
