I stopped celebrating my birthday, i just told my family (parents and siblings) to not celebrate anymore, just saying "happy birthday" is fine since i never get the chance to party or do anything. So ill just drink beer, buy a gift formyself and end the day with games and movies, nothing more. And no its not sad, its a decission and its been like that for years, we try to have a party but no one is either called over or invited even if i want them to be, so its fine by now. Im juat used to it.

Haha, when I turned 18 (counts as adult where I'm originally from) I had asked my family to leave me alone on my birthdays and not bother with parties and surprises, as I don't like either and prefer spending my birthdays alone, hiking in the woods, or cycling, or even hill walking, just away from everyone and anyone I know. They complied. I'm grateful still, 15 years later.
One day a year is completely mine.
