Description Because sometimes, we need to remind the obvious at some people who think too well of their own rules/judgement...

***
Good characters are NOT made of strength(s)/weakness(es)

They are made of CHARACTERISTICS

Good authors will then adapt these CHARACTERISTICS to CIRCUMSTANCES that will bring good/bad outcomes...

Great authors will then show you that these good/bad outcomes might turn out to have OPPOSITE EFFECTS/UNEXPECTED CONSEQUENCES with TIME...

Poor critiques will stop at the first step... believing they understood it all...

As such, putting permanent labels on a character based on three words listed in their chara-profile such as strength/weakness or others... doesn't really show smart judgement.

Chara-profiles are "teasers", "trailers", something that should make you CURIOUS, not PREJUDICED.

But then again, it's only my point of view. I do not ask you to agree with it. Reciprocally, please stop bugging people so that they will accept your conception-of-things/way-of-imagining-characters/rules-for-presenting-deviations when you don't even try to get theirs...

~HOW TO USE THIS STAMP~

Apparently, now you do not need to be a Premium Member anymore in order to use the thumb function

In your journal, custom boxes or author's comments, type :thumb00000000: while replacing the "00000000" by the reference number of the stamp you wish to display.
e.g./ for this stamp :thumb315416480:

You can find the whole "thumb" code in the right column of a deviation page, just under the list of groups in which the deviation is submitted (and also when clicking the little "Share" arrow just under the "Download" button).

You can also find a deviation reference in the URL of the deviation page, just after the title. If the URL is made of gallery references, meaning a mixture of letters and numbers like "#/d36ijh8", just click on the deviation title once more to get the normal reference.

I agree with this stamp. I mean, if you were to make a list, a "good" and a "bad" character could have the same characteristics, strengths, and weaknesses. But what separates a good and bad character for me is how well they are written and how they are ultimately portrayed.

I agree, especially the chara-profile part. You can't know the character perfectly with just a charasheet or description (especially since it usually show the character at the beginning of the story, nobody but the creator will know how the character will change).

I hate when people think they know everything about a character who's not theirs, they can have an opinion on the character but that doesn't mean it's the truth.
